The Central Washington University Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. T. André Feagin, presents “The Blue Marble,” a musical program that explores the expressive and communicative power of the wind band through contemporary works for winds and percussion. Graduate conducting students Giovanni T. Clarke and Kyle Edwards will guest conduct the ensemble in works by Omar Thomas and Jodie Blackshaw, respectively. The Wind Ensemble is excited to feature and collaborate with Dr. Gayla Blaisdell (soprano) in a performance of Eric Whitacre’s Goodnight Moon. The concert experience concludes with Julie Giroux’s Symphony No. 6, “The Blue Marble.” Hertz Concert Hall will be transformed and become the backdrop for a multimedia presentation from the composer aimed at evoking the audience senses of sound, smell, and sight. This is a performance you will not want to miss! We hope you will join us on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 @ 7:00pm for what we know will be an incredible evening of artistry.
