Dr. Yerin Kim teams up with Dr. Christine Harada Li and Dr. Nathaniel Pierce for an evening of chamber music by American composers Frank Stemper, Jessie Montgomery and Charles Ives. The program will feature a Washington premiere of Frank Stemper’s Goodnight Moon for solo cello and voice written for Pierce, based on the famous children’s book by Margaret Wise Brown. Montgomery’s duo for violin and cello written in 2015 for her friend Adrienne Taylor is meant as an ode to friendship, according to the composer's program note. The Ives Piano Trio is a reflection of Ives’ college days at Yale. There is an element of humor that pervades all three works and that spirit marks the artists’ relationship that brought them together for this collaboration. We hope to see you there!
